Saturday morning is the time to fly out here. 605AM and not 1 person in line. Perfect.
A nice clean airport that is easy to navigate! But like any other airport...the price of tickets one finds will determine where one travels to and from!
For a small regional airport ("international"? seriously?) it's perfectly fine - and it's clean, has free WiFi, snacks, etc. However (and I'm waffling between taking off 1 or 2 stars for this), why, for the love of all that is good and holy, do they insist on piping in a horrible 80's pop soundtrack? I'm here waiting for a delayed flight (which is not their fault) and I'm seriously disturbed by the assault on my eardrums (which is definitely their fault) by Wham.
Smaller Airport. You can check in fast, get thru security fast, then get to your gate without rushing. People are nice, bathrooms are clean. Not many places to eat, shop, or buy drinks. Overall it's just relaxed atmosphere.
For the last two trips into MLI our gate wasn't ready upon arrival and so I've sat on a plane on the tarmac for about 1.5 hr total...How is that possible when there's less than a dozen gates?...It takes longer for me to go through security in this airport than in larger airports such as DTW...how is that possible?...don't fly through MLI it you have an option.
